The Lake Eola Bandshell celebrates 100 years

Last updated on November 20, 2023

Everyone say “Happy Birthday” to the Lake Eola Band Shell! Constructed in 1924, this iconic landmark, has stood as a symbol of cultural vibrancy in Orlando for 100 years. Initially designed by architects Isabel Roberts and Ida Annah Ryan, the original bandshell, though smaller, was a bustling hub for musical events in the early 1900s.

Over the years, the Lake Eola Bandshell has witnessed significant transformations, evolving into the state-of-the-art Lake Eola Amphitheater we know and love today. The centennial celebration marks a century of hosting outdoor concerts, serving as a backdrop for countless photo ops, and contributing to the beauty of Orlando. May the next hundred years bring even more concerts and community spirit to this cherished landmark in DTO!
